O dangos im fy Arglwydd Ner

1,2,(3),4.
(Salm xxxix.5,6,12,14,15. [Llyfr Gweddi Cyffredin])
O! dangos im, fy Arglwydd Ner,
  Pa amser y diweddaf
Rifedi 'nyddiau; a pha hyd
  O fewn y byd y byddaf.

Rhoddaist fy nyddiau fel lled llaw,
  I'm heinioes daw byr ddiwedd;
Diau, yn d'olwg di, O Dduw!
  Fod pob dyn byw yn wagedd.

Pan gosbech di am bechod wr,
  Fe wywa'n siwr ei fawredd
Fel gwyfyn; gwelwn wrth ei lun,
  Nad yw pob dyn ond gwagedd.

O! paid â mi, gâd im gryfhau
  Cyn darfod dyddiau 'mywyd;
A gwna â mi sy 'mron fy medd
  Drugaredd a syberwyd.

(Psalm 39:5,6,12,14,15. [Welsh Book of Common Prayer])
Oh show me, my Lord Master,
  When I shall finish
Numbering my days, and how long
  Within the world I shall be.

Thou gavest my days like a hand-breadth,
  That my lifespan should come shortly an end;
Doubtless, in thy view, O God!
  That every man alive is vain.

Whenever thou dost punish a man for sin,
  His greatness will surely wither
Like a moth; we see by his appearance,
  Every man is only vanity.

Oh spare me, let me strengthen
  Before the days of my life cease;
And make with me what almost intoxicates me
  Mercy and sobriety.
tr. 2015 Richard B Gillion
(PSAL. XXXIX.)
 5 My life, thou know'st, is but a span,
     a cypher sums my years;
   And ev'ry man, in best estate,
     but vanity appears.

 6 Man like a shadow vainly walks,
     with fruitless cares oppressed;
   He heaps up. wealth, but cannot tell
     by whom 'twill be possessed.

11 For when thou chast'nest man for sin
      thou mak'st his beauty fade,
   (So vain a thing is he,) like cloth
      by fretting moths decayed.

13 O spare me yet a little time,
     my wasted strength restore;
   Before I vanish quite from hence,
     and shall be seen no more.
